Biography
Theatre Director, Writer and Translator.
Born in Israel, lives in Tel Aviv.
In 2025, Noam Shmuel was appointed Artistic Director of the Habima National Theater of Israel. Previously, he served as Artistic Director of the Mediatheque Theatre Holon, one of Israel’s leading theaters for young audiences, where he established a repertoire of award-winning productions and a distinctive artistic vision.
He trained at the Drama Centre London (BA Directing) and is a graduate of the Thelma Yellin School of Arts, Tel Aviv. Shmuel has worked in the Artistic Management of the Cameri Theatre, as Artistic Coordinator of the Tel Aviv International Theater Festival, and in numerous theaters in Israel, the UK and Germany. He collaborates with actors, singers, dancers and musicians, and regularly leads workshops in ‘Movement Psychology’ (Yat Method) at the Israeli Opera, Beit Zvi Acting School and the Yoram Loewenstein Studio.
