"A Thousand Splendid Suns”, based on a novel by Khaled Hosseini, author of 2003’s bestseller “The Kite Runner,” is a clear-eyed illumination of that most accessible of ties, a mother’s bond with her endangered child.
Set in Afghanistan from the 1960`s to the 1990`s, spanning from Soviet occupation to the Taliban control, following the lives of two women in their marriages and in their war-torn country. Expecting domestic abuse, graphic war descriptions and oppression of Afghan women you will get into affecting story of love, unpretentious courage, among the ruins of war torn country.
